Default Sleeve or Bore

OK, I have a b20... and I was thinking of sleeving it to 85mm

if I want to go to 86mm or larger do I have to bore out the block?

(or is this just a terrible idea)?

if you sleeve, then 86 would be feasible

I would probably sleeve anything more than 84mm.

But that's just me.

From what I've been told the stock sleeves on a B20 are joined together and don't make for a good resleeving job,I'd get an ls block to sleeve.

I used to have a picture archive on alot of block pics. Unfortunately, they got erased and I can't share what we had seen.

the B18 stock sleeves are better to work with. the foundation on the b20 sleeves are not as solid as the b18. If you're going to sleeve anyways, better use a b18 since its the same thing anyway after you sleeve it.

its not that the B20 is NOT sleeveable. Its just a PREFERENCE to sleeve a b18.

but aren't aftermerket sleeves made out of stronger material?

Why should it matter if I sleeve a b20 vs a b18

I'd still like some proof on this, everyone says don't do it, but no reason why

because honda didnt mean to have a b20 rev out to 10k to make its peak power

duh. why didnt they? because they wanted torque.
why did they want torque? because it was going in an suv.
why did they make an suv? because honda wanted to an suv lineup.

re-iterating circle of retardation.

what I mean is... what is it about the foundation that makes it weak (as compared to a b18)

and most of the b18s weren't buit to ver to 10,000 either

I don't want to rev my b20 to 10,000, I don't even want 8,000
