Default A quick intorduction to H-T, and the debut of my new engine!

I finally got my head cleaned up and reworked, insalled a new valve train (skunk 2 springs and Ti retainers) and stuck it all on a brand new 2001 B18C5 complete small block assembly, (got a REALY good deal on it through an Acura dealer. Picked it up at the tune of 2222.92) and got the whole deal back in the car and running again!

Of course there is still a shitload of work to do. Next is going to be some tuning. I’m running the stock B16A2 ECU right now. Im sitting on an OBD II to OBD I harness/converter, but I need to find a P28 ECU. My builder couldn’t locate one for me. After I get that Im going to uberdata it and can get to tuning on the wideband.

In a short while there I will be adding some aftermarket cams (am using the stock b16 cams right now), cam gears and thinner head gasket (to increase CR to 11:1). I'm probably going to go with the JUN stage 3 copies, or skunk 2 stage 2s.

After that, the stock intake manifold is going to get chucked for an aftermarket version, probably a skunk 2 unit or one from AEBS, along with a larger throttle body and a new CAI (mine has a fat hole from my nitrous fogger nozzle).. I guess Ill also end up getting the ITR CAI since it has a 3" pipe.

I’m also going to need to get either a free flow cat or a test pipe and a real cat back exhaust. Right now I’ve got the JDM ITR header's collector ghetto rigged up to my stock 2" catalytic converter/exhaust. That just won’t do. Of course this is probably the last thing I’m going to do unless I can find a really good deal on an RS*R cat back or something of the sort.

I havent been able to get on the engine yet. I have to break it in. So far I’m at 350 out of 500 miles, on the break in, so it’s going to be a bit. I can tell you though is that its smoooooooth, and there is a noticeable power increase over stock. It pulls very strong, even while in 5th gear at 80MPH. Here are some pics of the new set up. Damn the engine bay is clean, you should have seen it before. 4 years w/o a proper cleaning. PHEW!

Congrats on the new motor! A few things:

1.) How could you not find a P28? They are EVERYWHERE.
2.) Why wait until later to add cams, etc? Why not wait a little longer & do it all at once? It saves labor.
3.) Nice legs

1- money. i had to sell my nitrous kit before I could have enough of it to get the cams/head gasket/gears. Install isnt a problem since that is only going to cost me a 12 pack of some good beer and a nght of handing my friend his tools.

2- Ill tell my girlfriend you appriciate them!

3- Oh, I forgot to mention, this all went into a 2000 EBP Civic Si.

edit: the header and cat are connected pretty good. it may be ghetto, but there ate no exhaust leaks after almost a week of driving.

That is awesome man! . That is a steal coming from the dealer. When my d16 went , I was just gonna swap in a B16 (but, it was still under warranty and my parents would have killed me). The dealer wanted $6000 for the long block . So, a little over $2g's for the shortblock is great!

I am pretty sure that out resident honda dealer guys like BERT-O can get you one for around that much.. Of course it is not complete... You would need another gsr block to get the sensors, h2o and other stuff out from.

yeah, the legs are the first thing I noticed. I pulled up the pic in class and worried about if I was opening up something safe, she's hot! Very nice setup though!
