if u just got ur fully built ls....go wit non detergent like he said but dont open her up until u have at least driven 150 to 200 miles just to be on tha safe side...u can do it at 100 but i wouldnt recomed it. once u pass tha 150 mile mark i think u will be ok, then give her a run 4 her $ after shes broke in i would change out tha oil again cause its mass good for it...then u will b good 4 another 2500 miles

and when you change your oil look into it because you might find yourself some metal shavings...maybe..but yea like said before put about 200 miles on it then take it to the dyno and tune it while the engine is still fresh

later should i turn to full synthetic or stay with a non detergent oil also i heard from some people that proper breaking in can take up tp 1500 miles before opening her up i spent alot of money and would hate to mess it up! But thanks for the advice

ya it can take up to that long but also they probably have more done and dont want to risk breakin a bunch of ****...i really dont know what u got done to ur car so...about going wit full synthetic, SLOWLY progress full synthetic or u can shock ur engine! and tha results u wont like. get some oil that is half synthetic or sumthin and run that stuf through two oil changes...then ull be good for full synthetic...also if u have a Jiffy Lube nearby, go in and buy a bottle of TX7...u can put it in ur reg. oil witch will turn it to synthetic but wont hurt it...it will also put a poly-urithane coat on ur engine and keep it 20 degrees cooler also TX7 makes that stuff for ur trans. its mass good ****! i used to work at there and got a whole bunch of it....its good stuff

non synthetic oil
break it in like how you would normally drive later on, if your gonna be smashing a lot, do it now.

You should do a couple 5k or 6k pulls. I don't mean stepping on it in every gear, or shifting gears like a maniac. Just cruise and every once in a while, maybe in second take it to 6k rpm's just to put some pressure on the rings so they will seal properly. I did this to my built LsVtec and after the first 100 miles my compression was 240 all across. Now i have 1000 miles and the compression is even higher. Even after only 400 miles i took it to 7.5k a couple of times. Just don't race anybody, because its the heat from constant high rpm's that causes your engine to not brake-in properly.
