does anyone know how to take out a gas tank from a 91 CRX Si?

 

no i dont but why u taking it out??

 

1.disconnect battery
2. relieve gas pressure @ filter
3. drain gas from tank
4. disconnect all gas lines going into tank
5. disconnect sending unit
6. unbolt straps holding tank in

 

the easiest way to do is to get the chilton or haynes book for ef's

 

tools: candle, large icepick, jack / jackstands, 10mm ratchet, extra gasoline

for this removal I recommend dousing yourself in gasoline first... it'll help.

01 - light candle under tank
02 - start whacking at it with icepick
03 - seek medical attention

Sharpview's method may be more practical.

 

My gas gauge doesn't go less than half so I want to see if there is anything inside my gas tank. Should I take a look at my gas tank or check the gauge first?

 

check the sending unit maybe it not working right it would be where the back seat would be (if you had one) under the carpet

Try testing the gauge before you get fuel all over yourself, but the sender may really be bad.

how would I know if the fuel sender is bad?

 

if you have a voltage meter than check and see if it is getting 12 volts but to find that out you have to turn the key on
