like it says, how do i know if i have a 2000 gsr tranny? is there a stamp on it? if so where is it located and what should it say. thanx alot.

 

you'll have to open it up..and count the teeth on the final drive...if 66, then its a gsr tranny

my gsr tranny has a 'J4D' stamp on it

 

If it has the VIN plate on it still then you should be able to pick out DC2. However DC2 indicates GS-R or ITR so you may have either.

 

it looks diffrent than a 99 si

If it says DC2 or DB8 on the tranny vin plate it's a GSR. You'll know it's an ITR tranny if you can look straight through the part where the axles bolt up.

oops.. forgot about the 4door GS-r that we didn't get up here in Canada.

 

Hey guys, i dont know where the vin plate is on mine, My trans is out of the car, and i looked all over it. the car has allot of miles on it, so its very well able to have been taken off over the years.

The barcode sticker on the trans says -

Y80- 1045687

Gsr?

 

Y80 can be a USDM/JDM ITR, GSR, or LS.

easiest way to c if u have a gsr tranny is go to drive at 80mph in 5th gear if ur at 4000rpm u gotta gsr tranny
