Default anyone experienced OBDII code p0740 (elect ckt malfunction for torque converter clutch)?

The P0740 code has existed on my 97 honda accord for a few months now, but I have never experienced any problems (when hooking up a computer to the car it says that it's an electrical ckt malfunction for torque converter clutch). I'm getting ready to drive across the country and wanted to find out if this is something that needs to get looked at before I go (trying not to pay $80 bucks for a mechanic to look at it just to tell me there's no problems).
Thanks for the help.

all my experiences with that code wind up needing a trans because of pressure loss at the t/c/seal.
