Default Air intake question

Okay, I'll try this one again...

Do I purchase the air intake to match the year of the throttle body, year of the head/intake, or year of the chassis?

1991 Integra, B18a block, 1995 B18 LS head and intake, 1991 throttle body, ODB0

Thanks, and sorry if this is a stupid question to you guys... your answer will be very helpful to me.

Mike

In this case, you can buy the intake for a 1991 Integra. The size of the throttle body, as well as the path the intake takes will be important. For 90-93 Integras, the path is very different from the LS intake (at least when talking about a CAI or the location of the filter on an SRI). I think if you put an 1994+ Cold Air LS intake on, you would run into fitment problems because of battery location. I am not sure about using an SRI, I doubt there will be unsolvable fitment problems in your case.

As you can see in this 1991 Integra, which I got from http://www.callum.orcon.net.nz/engine.jpg, even though it has a swap, the intake still needs to go around the battery. In 1994+ Integras, the battery is not located in that spot, and the CAI/SRI is easier to maneuver.
