each car is different.
different modifications will have a different vtec point.

ask your tuner and inspect your dyno plot.

Guess again!

p.s. Endyn was talking about disabling VTEC on their supercharger kit (vaporware, afaik)... so it really depends on the mods and tune.

5500 seems to be a popular number.

when i first got the car it was set low around 4k. but it seemed to hit much harder when i bumped it up higher to 5800 i think that's pretty close to stock setting if i'm not mistaken. thats where my car hits like a champ.

anything less then 5100 doesnt allow the motor to build up proper oil pressure. In other words, you will make more power setting vtec at 5200RPM then say 4300 RPM

the reason Vtec is set at 5300 RPM or whatever its set at depending on the ECU is so the motor can build up proper oil pressure to safly run vtec

Is that where the torque/horse power curves cross on a dyno plot? If so, I'd like to see that.

"Vapor" is putting it mildly. "Smokescreen" is more like it.

You're right though...there are some pretty fast ITR w/no small lobes at all.

GSR is at 4400 rpms...from the factory. Hmm....I guess those engineers there forgot about oil pressure

LMAO
Where did you hear that?
What about vtec motors that have vtec removed?
Do they have the proper oil pressure?
