FUSTRATED AND TIRED!!!!
Okay heres the story, I just bought a 1988 four door Acura Integra (GS-R). From a small mexican dealerhip (biggest mistake). Well after i bout it for 6,200 with 113,000 miles. The CEL came on. So i took it up to the dealership (this is not where i bout the car from) got over 900 dollars in repairs and the light still comes on. So i take it back up to the dealership (this is not where i bout the car from) and they tell me i have si parts in my car! So im like okay what are the si parts, he tells me the head(engine) is a si 1.8 and the block (gsr) is a 1.6. Theres the problem! So i decided to either allow the small (mexican) dealership replace the parts. Or to sue them, give them back their car and end up buying either: another 98 gsr (hopefully 2dr) or if i get enough money (From sueing) to end up buying a type r.
Any suggestions
P.S. NEVER BUY A CAR WITHOUHT A VALID HISTORY REPORT NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE OFFER SEEMS!!

An Si with a 1.8? Never happened. A gsr block is 1.8L (B18C1)

Give them back that car. No offense but it does not sound like you know what you are getting yourself into. Remember the gsr is a 1.8L motor ever since 1994. There is nothing wrong with a gsr block and an si head. (you will throw a CEL though)

!! dude.. my girl just bought a '96 ls with 93k for $5000. if MD is the same as DE, then you legally have 30 days to take a car back to the dealer (even if it's a small mexican one).
Look at the block code and to see if it says B18C1. Then check the intake manifold, if it curves upward then it's probably a B16 head. If the intake manifold curves downward, then it's a GSR head.
