Default Slightly inconsistent idle...

When cold or warm, doesnt matter what accessories are on, etc. My '91 Accord has a slight inconsistency with the idle... it will slightly "sputter" just a little every few seconds. What might this be due to? I dont have much experience with Hondas as I just purchased this car.

I read that from 90-93 the accords had a lot of trouble with the distributor failing... might this be the cause? Thanks,

Chris

Sounds normal and nothing you should be worried about. You could try and change your plugs and fuel filter and do a general tune up and see if that helps, but I would not be too worried about your idle.

Seafoam (search) or Honda Throttle body cleaner - and check your plugs....

Thanks for the replies :-)

My concept of a tune up involves replacing the following items:

- Plugs
- Wires
- Cap
- Rotor
- O2
- Fuel Filter
- Coil (maybe)

Anything else? Does this sound like a proper tune up?

That sounds like a pretty good list. If that does not help it then you may want to try some seafoam like 93 suggested.
