throw out bearing??? please help
I have a b16 in my 91 integra... there was an ls tranny in the car when I bought it, and I juat swapped an s1 tranny into the car. I hooked the cable for the tranny back up but when I push the clucth in it just goes to the floor with no resistance and stays there. I thought the cable might be broken, but I checked that and its fine. so while the car was up on jackstands I had a buddy manualy pull the lever on the cable tranny when I tried to get it in gear and it just grinds. And when you pull up on the lever I dont feel any resistance from the pressure plate. I used the throw out bearing that was in the s1 tranny when I got it. anyone know what could be wrong????
if i can remeber, when we did a tranny swap on 92 cable tranny integra, we had to adjust the cable. the same thing happened, we stepped on the clutch and it stayed on the floor. u need to adjust the cable
I dont think it is the cable like I said because while the car is on jackstands and running, my friend manually lifted the lever wich should disengage the clutch, but it would not go into gear. and there is no resistance like it is disengaging the clutch. I guesse it must be the throw out bearing but it looked like it was fine before I put the s1 trannny in the car???

oh and I did adjust the cable I tried it as tight all the way to as loose as it would go and no matter what the pedal would not come back up, and the clutch would not disengage

lol. well if u said u adjusted the cable, then check ur TO bearing. that sucks that u gotta remove the whole tranny again. make sure the springs/coil of wire on the tranny are attahced to the TO bearing

sorry im not a cable trans expert, all my experience is with hydro transmissions
but aren't there two different mainshaft sizes for the cable trans?
maybe you have the wrong clutch for the transmission
