CTR Possible in the USA?
This was actually something my brother sent me, But thought others might find it intriguing http://www.bochhonda.com/car_showroom/default.asp - look at the bottom left Car choice http://www.bochhonda.com/type_R.asp
Mike that's kinda weird. It seems like they're promoting it an awful lot given that we're not even sure it's coming. I thought that maybe it was to get people hyped up for the Si, but they plainly put the CTR decals, Recaros, etc in full view. hmmm...
Who knows what will happen, I know this Boch Honda, and its The Largest Most Advanced Honda dealership (Brand New and the title was given to it by Honda) So I figure maybe someone let them know something we dont know
Plus I figure you guys would enjoy the sound clips and pics
Merry Christmas

Their website is top-notch.
As much as I like the idea of the CTR, I don't think there's room for it in the USDM, with the RSX-S, RSX-R, and Civic Si. It would end up cannibalizing one of those cars.

That would be quite interesting. Not to be a magazine worshiper, but either C&D or R&T said that Honda basically confirmed it. George and I were just discussing whether or not it would be the real R, or the castrated 200hp one that the Australians get.

mid 5's? no way. Not with a 1/4 mile time of 14.3 or whatever it ran in the BM videos. It's quick but only a hair quicker than the DC2R. Unless they give it a power boost between now and '04.
Damn...that new CTR *sounds* good.
Well, that would be a bit weird if the CTR came to the US and NOT the RSX-R. Who knows though. Maybe the CTR would boost more sales than the ITR (riceboy factor).

Perhaps they are going to do what they did with the Integra... They had the Integra for a while, then came out with the Type R, and now it no longer exists... Maybe they are going to come out with the Civic Type R and then stop making the Civic!

uhk.. I hope Honda will bring another 'R' here..
RSX-R or CTR.. doesn't matter.. as long as its an R.....
I need another to accompany my old R then...

If I´m not mistaken then those are pics from a UK site, I´ve seen them before. The local Honda sale manager told me that CTR was Euro-JDM-AUDM exclusive but USDM will get Si with CTR interior (-the gearknob
) the Type-R kit is available from Honda also.... I saw the parts guide for the 3 door at the dealership

I think so. Acura RSX-S is a refined sports car for young and old. A lot of women are driving the RSX and older men.
Since the Honda Prelude is dead they should introduce a hyper Civic into the lineup to spice up the brand... the Civic Type R!! They can make more money on the CTR than the S2000.
I will put a deposit to reserve a CTR immediately if there is confirmation that it will be released.
Plus, it would make a great companion to the ITR.
i-Vtec in a small wheel base, LSD and newer rigid platform.. this car will rip it out on the track.

Tell you the truth I have a feeling that their wont be an RSX-R, sad as it is.
If they don't make a CTR, we all know what will happen...RSX-S being stolen for their 200hp (CTR) motor.
The Si is nice, but it's pretty slow. Even with the improved torque of the 2.0L engine, it turns low 8-second 0-60 times. That's why people will want to steal...Like the interior though.

It will compete too much with the S2000 in terms of target market.

FWD coupe vs. RWD conv.
I think of the S2000 in comparison to a Cadillac Eldorado...overpowered old person's car, where the S2000 is like an overpowered yuppie woman car
