NEED HELP, gsr engine wire harness...
my gsr had been misfiring randomly, ends up its a short in the engine harness. well the dealership wants 830 for a new one plus 400 for installation. f that. i need to know what other integra harnesses work for a 96 obd2 gsr, and how hard is it to do a harness swap? i'm a fairly capable mechanic and it seems a harness would be simple. thanks in advance, and heres a pic so this thread gets some attention...

i personally would never go to the dealership unless it was my last resort.
i would check with LKQ salvage yards and just tell um what your lookin for and they will hook you up
good luck

they said it was a short that affected the injectors, but they recommended getting a whole harness instead of trying to repair or replacing the section that was ruined.

and all you need is a phillips and flat head screw driver and a pair of needlenose, and just take your time... and on the old harness mark where the connectionis with a piece of tape. you should have a problem ....
you should just take the time to look at your current harness yourself. it could be something as simple as some frayed wires. Which you could easily fix yourself and save yourself alot of $$$.
ok, thanks, i'll check that out. but if i have to replace the old one, anyone know what else works? i really don't want to shell out 500 bucks (cheapest ive found so far) for a freakin harness.
I would suggest that you pull up an electric diagram for your car from like, All Data. (if you are mechanic then you probably have an acces to it) Get a multimeter and go throuth the harness wires that consern ignition system, check for opens and shorts..... it'll take a while, but you will be able to save $$. P.S. Do the diagnosis one more time, it might not be the harness and you definitly don't want to find out about that after you'll put the new one in
