Default taking bumper lens out for CAI?

I have a CAI on a highly modified LS motor, I was wondering what kind of gains would I see by removing the bumper lens, I know it HAS To do something, beacuse the filter is right there, it just blows nice cold air right into it while moving, anyone ran the 1/4 with and without? any difference?

When I had my CAI in I always took the lense out. I have no idea what kinda gains it made, but I figured every little bit counts.

I just take it out when I feel like doing some more "spiritied" driving, I can really feel a difference on cold winter nights

Same here, I take it out whenever I go to the track.

I'm not too sure how much gain there is but there should be some minor gains.

i wonder if it makes a difference because.... If you look at where the filter is placed, air would be blowing not into the filter..but kinda across it indirectly. I would imagine air would pass BY the top of the filter, and since it's moving so fast, I wondered if it helped. Maybe if the filter was pointing directly out into the parking lights it would have had some sort of ram-air effect?...who knows
No clue if it made gains, but I think it looks cool, so I kept it off on my GSR . Cause you know all the real racers drive around without a right blinker. I am so retarded..heh heh for me.

you can always switch to a open cone filter...and just have a ram air effect
but the point is to get COLD air......if you want velocity u need a shortram/icebox kinda deal!
