Hows that for a descriptive title.
Well I was coming home tonight and my car started being retarded. First I look down and see that my RMP gauge is reading ZERO(0 RPM's).Then when I try to floor it in 5th it just sputters and hesitates, down shift, same thing. I get further down the road and it gets wrose. Next my car cuts off and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT coms on. I check my oil and see that its normal, so I check it again and see that its normal. I check in three times just to be safe, and on the third time the lvl is right below the mininum dot. So I put a quart in. I try to start my car... nothing happens it didn't even crank, or try to turn over. The main realy just kept clicking. My dad finally comes after I use the State Troopers cell phone to call him. We check my head lights a notice they are dim. So we figure a weak battery. We jump start the car and it finally starts up and the RMP gauge comes back when I rev it at in neutral. We get back on the road and the whole proccess starts again (SPUTTERING/BACKFIRING,CHECK OIL LIGHT,AND (THIS TIME) AN ECU CODE).
With the ECU code I couldn't tell if it was a Code 1 or not. It blinked and paused and blinked and paused and just kept going like that. It wasn't like the other codes whe it was like: blinkblinkblinkblinkblink pause blinkblinkblinkblinkblink pause.
Please tell me if you need more descrition, I'm just trying to figure Out what the hell the problem is.
edit:
I forgot to mention. HF with Si swap.

I put the battery from my DX in and it started up. I let it idle with the highbeams on. After about 40mins it cut out on me. So I'm going to put on the alternator from the HF. Hopefully thats it.
I have a similar problem...no ones been able to help me either. Code 1 is oxygen content. I've heard alot of stuff such as it being battery, alternator, grounding problem, relay, distributor etc. The problem is electrical that's for sure, but I don't have money to throw at it right now. If I figure it out I'll let you know. Even after you keep boosting your abttery will still drain, so don't bother with that.

HOW DO YOU PULL THE ALTERNATOR OUT? I just broke a container after I kicked it. I'm honestly going to takea shotgun to the damn car... is there some special technique to do to take it out?

Ok, so I didn't take a shotgun to the rex, but I did manage to get the alternator out. I had to remove the lower bracket (two 14mm bolts) and slide it out pully facing up, over the axle. I'm have get get a battery now since I've competley drained two.
I still hope my alternator was the problem, any thing else it could be?
