300hp clutch for 00si
my car will soon be put together, and i want to put in a stronger clutch why it is out. I have searched and read good things about ACT XTSS, what do you guys think? I need it to be vary streetable because i am always in traffic. Also i want something strong enough to hold 300ish hp. does anyone know how much the XTSS will hold? Thanks guys.
The only thing I would say is don't go to heavy on the pedal you'll hate it. I had the ACT heavy duty and my buddy had the extreme we were both around that 275whp mark and my car was so much easier to drive an the clutch held no problem.

i like the pedal feel on the CM better then the Act. the CM feels more like stock. those are the clutch upgrades i try to sell. i have had a stage 4 in my car for the last 3 years and no issues with it.

It sounds like the HDSS is the clutch for me. Is anybody running high hp on one? I am shooting for 300hp but we all know how those things go. It would be nice if the HDSS had a little room for growth(maybe350hp). Let me know what you guys think.. Thanks
I currently have a HDSS setup in my D16Y8. I'm hoping to make more power with it now, probably around 300-350whp. I hope the HDSS will hold up for awhile on my setup. I may end up upgrading to the 4 or 6 puck with XTSS eventually.

I run a cm3 in my itr with 345whp 238ft/lbs. 50+launches, daily driven in summer.

Yea anything in the 300-400hp range would be the ClutchMasters Stage 3's sweet spot. The drivabilty is top notch for a clutch that handles that much power.
well from what ive seen the hd/ss is more of a street only clutch....my friend burnt his out within a year and that was w/only 250-275whp.....try a cm stage 3 might work better

I have a ClutchNet 6 puck & pressure plate. 356 whp and a season and a half on slicks and on the street with no problems. Has a nice feel to it not stiff at all but heavier than stock. Nice clutch for the money.
