Default NEED HELP!!! Wiring techs please look.

So heres the deal: Two cars, both acura Integras. One is a 92 LS and the other is a 94 LS. Sometimes the cars will not start and it sounds like the fuel pump isn't working. Then minutes later, it works. Happens after getting gas more often. Could it be the pump or the pump relay...?

well as long as it starts, the pump is still good, u probably want to check fuel pump assembly to make sure everything is in its place

The fuel system on these cars has never been touched and I think its unlikely that the same problem is happening to two cars with the pump coming loose. Unless you know something I don't.

Thanks for the replies, keep'em coming.

If it's not running, take apart the main relay & look for cracked (cold) solder joints. That's one common problem. Beyond that, you can check for proper battery power back at the pump.

Do you make a habit of pausing at 'on' before turning the key to 'start'? If the ignition switch is OK, your oil lamp will come on since that circuit doesn't come from the main relay. The main relay powers the ECU, injectors, & fuel pump.

If everything is dead, check out the electrical part of the ignition switch. That's a fairly common problem too.

Good info. Like I said, the fuel pump works some of the time. The ignition switch is working normally. I'm going to check the relay for cracked solder and see if thats it. Other then that I think it may be the mains relay.

Thanks for the reply, thats the kind of stuff I was hoping for. But I do need more info so keep'em com'n.

I could not have said it better myself. Very good advise, if it generally happens when it's warm it's a good sign of the main relay to have cracked solder on the circuit board.

Honda's have the ECU power relay & the fuel pump relay packaged together into one 'relay'...
