Not really THAT high.
When my LS was automatic, I ran a consistent 16.9 quarter mile. I had a short ram intake, but that doesn't do anything.
As soon as I did the 5-speed conversion, I ran 15.9's consistently. Exactly 1 second faster with the 5-speed.

thats a killer quesetion. what would make u ask that one. i hope your not looking to mod ur car seriously if its an auto. first thing u should do is 5-speed conversion but ur prolly better off buyin a new car

My '98 4dr GS Auto was in the high 17's. Leather interior was very nice, but it was super slow and I got sick of the Auto real quick. Sold it within 6 months and bought a stock '97 RS. Dropped 1.5s off the 1/4 mile on the first trip down. Never looked back
