Anybody here with a 1st gen Prelude?
Just got myself an '81.
There's virtually no info available on the web (that I've seen) regarding these cars.
I'm looking to pick one of your brains for some info!

My main concern are the brakes and suspension.
Engine swap (which will NOT be an h22 when the time comes) is the least of my concerns.
I'm looking for info regarding brake upgrades and suspension components.

Old school hotness. All original! </TD></TR></TABLE>
repaint the car the same color, get the trim pieces freshly chromed and the plastic trim replaced if possible and the outside will be hoppin.
interior wise it shouldnt be too hard to redo. im sure all of the framing on the seats and such are still good so any good upolstery shop should be able to make them new again right along with the dash and carpet.
sweet ride. enjoy those 79 hp.

The seats have already been freshly recovered! I'm glad about that.
The dashboard and everything else is all original. No cracks..just some fading, which isn't a big deal for a good shop. A little dye and I'll be good to go.
The car only has 109K miles on it, and considering my '91 has nearly 160K I think the mileage is pretty good to be 20+ years old.
Oh, and carpet needs replaced.
But other than that..my plan is exactly as you insisted. Rechrome, new paint and I'll be happy.

Amazing how far the Lude has come since it's introduction, eh?
I know http://www.HPOA.org has a combined First/Second gen area on their forums.

Jonathan,
I emailed you this info, but in case anyone else is looking for info:
I've found that early Civics which seem to share lots of parts with the 79-82 preludes and they use 84-85 Accord calipers and rotors for a nice brake upgrade. I'm gonna go the junkyard this weekend and try it out there and if it fits, I'll buy some for my car
As for suspension, http://www.classicgarage.com has Konis all around. Only lowering springs I've heard of are from King Springs and are still available but have to be imported from Australia.

Because I've wanted one for a LONG time now, when I found this one for $150 thanks to the heads up from my man Craig.
You guys don't think these things look great? They've got such classic lines. I love them.
Plus, they weigh 2,100 lbs.
Craig, thanks for posting that info here as well. It will be good for the archives and potentially the knowledge base.

That would be a sweet h22 sleeper but I love the body styles of most of the newer cars such as eg's, ek's, dc's, bb1's etc
Not only do they look nicer in my opinion, their newer, have nicer more technologyized(is that a word?) interiors. Oh and they have mad bling blang jdm yo vtec

I'm not looking at any right now. Trying to find sources for brake and suspension upgrades
Anything will have to be totally custom, so I'll aim for practicality when the time comes.
Maybe a D series since I've got a few lying in my garage. I'll just have to see what fits and what doesn't. Heck, even a Z6 is a 50 hp increase.
