ok so i popped my hood today to find that the hood is rubbing on my valve cover. the subframe of the hood has rubbed a line in the blue paint on my cover. has anyone else had any problems with any other b-series motors in a del sol. i know the b16 came in them so i dont see why im having this problem unless the b18b block is taller.
any input would be greatly apretiated(sp)

You could go out and get a new hood with a slight cowl to ensure the clearance.. or you could bang the hood frame with a hammer, or try and raise the hood stops at the corners of your radiator supports for a few extra centimeters of clearance.
Usually people experience this problem when they have a mis-allignment of either the motor mounts or the hood. Check these things over, but if all else fails you can cut the sub-frame of the hood around where it's rubbing or you can try denting it with a hammer. Do a search, this has been covered many times. Good luck
I had a friend who had a Civic SI hatch (87-91). His valve cover hit the hood when he shifted hard. He had a broken Motor mount and it jumped into the hood when he shifted.

b18b, b18c, b18c-r, b20, b16b all have the same block height. the b16a is a bit shorter (by a few mm).

i have this problem with my B18C in my EH2. it was hitting in 2 differnt places(i hammerd up one of the hood supports in one of the spots which solved one of them)
but my front right corner of the valve cover smacks against the hood when slamming gears and there is a big nasty paint crack/dent of where the corner of my valve cover smacks.
ive noticed other people having this problem too
