I personally wouldn't buy anything from a first time seller. Especially something like a freakin motor...after all, that's a big investment to some.

exactly. it seems weird that he doesn't accept paypal...seeing as paypal is one of the most used payment systems on the internet nowadays and especially for ebay. ebay and paypal pretty much go hand and hand
i would ask the seller if you can do pickup. maybe just say something like "i'll come by and see the motor before purchasing, but i have 3k cash on me". If the seller gets all shifty when you say you'll actually come over, then you know there's something definitly wrong with the picture. Even if you don't intend on coming by to actually physically see the motor, you can just say that.

Looks like a total scam! I wonder how many people he'll rip off before ebay pulls it? Looks like a nice engine though.
Of course it's obvious English is not the sellers native language so it could just be a newbie business. You know everybody has to start at zero sometime. And what the hell are you supposed to do? I've never bought or sold anything on ebay, but I have both an ebay and paypal account. That's the difference though, I have a verified PayPal account. He should do that at the very least.
It's the part where he says his supplier won't accept anything but bank method (whatever that is) that is so suspicious.

i got a good deal off ebay way too good infact. motor was legit working order and everithing. but like most people in here are saying bad spelling, no #, no pay pall, its pretty much a scam
it is a scam. me and a friend was curiouse and was high bidder on one of the 2500 buy it now deals and he wanted a money transfer to his checklosovokian (spelling is off) bank within 24 hours. we never paid it and never got a negative feedback rating. i wouldnt do it. if that motor is for sale for under 3500, it is prolly a scam.
My rule is usually to pay more anyways for better service and reliability. If it is too good to be true then it probably is.
Be careful on here too because not too long ago there was this one guy kyle selling engines... read some posts after this one got locked and said taht he had price on his head... read very last two posts in thread... they spell out rules for selling here, stuff everyone should know. Don't know if he eventually came through or not but I would not want to go through what those people did; stress over losing $5k and not being able to do anything about it. They are REQUIRED TO POST VINS OR SEND THEM TO MODS... i know what its like to lose money, not nearly that much, but it sucks regardless. Even a few hundred sets ya back...

As for the ebay thing, I've heard way too many horror stories with overseas accounts, money transfers, escrow, etc. A good test is to have the seller put something like a hat or piece of fruit on the engine and take a pic and send it to you, that way youll know if it's his or not. If they are not willing to go the extra mile and do the normal (paypal) thing dont do business with them. There are plenty of other opportunities out there.
Scammers suck, they should all be systematically exterminated.
