Default Is this noise 'clutch chatter'?

I have a new ACT clutch & HD pressure plate, probably about 500 miles on it. I have a new noise when taking off from a stop, in 1st and second at moderate throttle. It sounds like a soft tire chirp (but its not). Does this description sound to you guys like 'clutch chatter'?
I'm pretty sure its the clutch, because I can vary the duration of the chirp by slipping the clutch less or more.

Opinions appreciated!
Bill

how long has urs been doing it? mines been like that since i got it put in jus about. but im pretty sure its a chatter

I want to know if that is chatter too, becuase i have heard of people talking about it, but never really understood what it really sounds like or feels like.

Clutch chatter is not a noise, it's when you engage the clutch and you feel the car shake. Just like if you tried to engage 2nd gear from a dead stop.

If clutch chatter is more of a vibration rather than something audible, then that is not what I'm experiencing. The noise I have is almost identical to chirping the tires, only quieter. Wonder what it could be. I've had it more or less since the clutch was changed, along with the flywheel and LSD.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Bill

i have a new ACT too and it is totally smooth as silk except when i go into 2nd either from 1st or downshifting. Unless I throttle up a bit to keep revs constant, I get a bit of vibration and chatter. If you didn't get your flywheel resurfaced you may be having chatter because of that.

My experience from my CM stage 4 is that the clutch has not fully grabbed causing the car to shake. Its has more to do with driver error because with practice, I can keep it to a minimum. Probably most puch type clutches do this.
