REALLY CONFUSED ABOUT CHIPPING YOUR ECU
Im confused about chipping your ECU. what exactly is ECU Socketing and ECU Socketing for Tuning? Now is ECU Socketing for Tuning when you can hook it up a computer run a program and modified your ECU to accept external ROM chips, fuel, ignition, VTEC crossover, rev limiter, sensors (enable/disable)?What other types of chips can be used, and what do they do?
read some of this. http://home.mn.rr.com/keebler6....html it should shed some light for you
so more or less i did have the concept down. Where you can hook it up to your computer and tone your ECU. I do have a ODBI ECU, so i could get chiped. What are some companys/site that will chip it for you? Also put a data logging cable for the connection. i found this one site : http://efituningforless.com/index.html
thats kinda what im lookin for right. ALso what programs would you use on window that would help you do all this?

chipping was popular YEARS and YEARS ago when "standalone ECU" cost $$$$$ to the point no average enthusiast like all of us here would even consider it. AEM/Hondata's prices is pocket change and considered afforadable now. Yes, you can get even cheaper methods like Uberdata and the others out there to tune your car. Nobody really buys a "chip" to dump into their ECU anymore. Unless you are clueless about how to really obtain power and buy things you've never heard about on Ebay. Chipping is fine if you plan to do really basic bolt ons, but it won't be optimal.
