Default Shifting around 4-5000rpms

my car is a 94 honda accord ex auto
when i maually shift the car, 1st gear it will allow me to shift at 5000rpms, and same for 2nd, and 3rd, is that all these cars can do?! it won't let me go any higher then that, thats not even close to redlineing!!

is this normal or no

if not what can i do to my car to shift at higher rpms?! with out costing me a arm and a leg!? lol

Do not do that. You will blow up your tranny, believe me. It happened to my automatic. I swapped in a maual tranny and i am on my 4th one. Dont autoshift.

Its an automatic not a manual. Theres no clutch.

The best thing I can think is rev limiter. Limits the amount the rpm's your able to obtain and shifts before you want it to. Besides why the hell would you want to redline an engine on a automatic. Sounds pretty stupid to me.....

The automatic should let you manually shift it whereever you want...
I should know, I've taken it past redline several times at the track. Not that it's a good thing though.

I'm not saying i want to redline it, i know thats not good, im new to the whole honda bit, its my first honda, i just thought you should be able to get more rev out of it then 5000rpms?! its weird, it won't let me go any higher, besides it being a automatic, it still does it even if i don't manual shift, i was just trying it today manualy shifting to see if it would do the same, and it does!!

i just thought i could get more power out of a honder then that?!

is there any max speed or cut off speed that a 94 accord ex auto trans can do
i don't even think i can get it up to 140kms/h lol haha
i know its no race machine lol
but thanks for the help!!

I can't remember whether there's a speed limiter or not (there may be one at around 125 mph), but either way, the engine just doesn't make enough horsepower to go much faster than that.
