Alignment... HFP Package...
Just wondering if you were to buy a stock Accord, and then buy the kit which comes with pre-assembled shocks and springs that lower the car apporx 1 inch, would you need to have the car aligned after the install and are the alignment specs still the same? Also does it matter if you have 15 inch wheels or 16 inch wheels on at the time of alignment? Thanks in advance!
yes, you would need to have the car realigned. if the install is done by the dealership, the alignment should be included in the installation. the size of the wheel would not affect the alignment process.
Any idea if the original shocks/springs come out as a unit or do they actually have to be disassembled? trying to save as much money on the installation costs, Then only thing I'd have to take care of is an alignment at the shop. Any Help is appreicated.
i don't think the HFP package comes with upper mounts... if it does, then all you have to do is swap assemblies. you should be able to call the parts department and ask them if the strut assembly is preassembled (or if they come with upper mounts).
The parts dept is so clueless it's really insane. The information I have is from the press release which states
High performance pre-assembled springs that reduce the ride height by one-inch and lower the Accord's roll center;
High performance shock absorbers tuned for enhanced road handling characteristics;
17-inch high performance 215/50VR-17 Yokohama tires (AT models only; standard on MT models);
Full aerodynamic under-body kit (front, sides and rear);
Rear wing spoiler; and
Factory Performance interior and exterior badging. "
So going by that what do you think it means? My Dealer really is clueless and I'd like to be sure I wont need to buy any other parts to install the shocks/springs.
Thanks in advance.
