well im lowering my car this week just bought struts and coilovers. i would like to do a 3 inch drop. when i take my car to the shop for alignment should i put back on my 17's or would it be easier for them to do if the steelies were on?

Do you have a camber kit? Youll need that for sure if you drop 3 inchs. Also if you put 17s on just to take them off when your done that defeats the purpose of the alignment. get it aligned with the wheels you want on.

well actually i want like a quarter inch of my tires tucked. as u can see now it looks like a monster truck. just bought wheels last week and my boys have been gettin on my case about my wheel gap so it was def time to buy suspension.

3 inches on 17 will be hella low.... i got H&R race on my EM1 and with stock Si rims(15 inch), the tires were tucked in already. and havent got any allignment yet, afraid that with the allignment the tires will rub the inner fender.

well from what i heard. alignment is a must right after suspension work is done or u can pretty much kiss ur tires goodbye. is this still true lol ?

With a 3 inch drop its beyond true.

But at the same time you need a camber kit, for that low. The toe wont fix it.

Indeed it's true. I dropped 3" on Omni coilovers without camber kit nor alignment and my inside tiris pretty wore out. Installed 5 months ago. With a 3" drop, you'll definitely need a camber kit PLUS alignment. Use your wheels that you want on the car when you do the alignment.

i have Tein SS springs on my integra.. a 1.8" drop, and its perfect for my 17" 40's... 3" is way to much.

It might be perfect for you. But, different strokes for different folks.

17in rims on a 3in drop... your freaking nuts... u will burn out ur tires like i did from all the rubbin

well i live in pa so 3 inch is prob not goin to happen. well c what happens. def goin to do alignment though then prob camber kit when my check book allows it. anyone no any nice shops in the pittsburgh area that do nice alignments ?

Drop it 2 inches, you get decent clearance and plus your tires won't be humming to you every turn, trust me, three inches is not smart. If it's a daily driven car, man you gone have a time getting over some speed bumps. I dropped mine two inches and it looks fine and my rims are smaller. BTW, you WILL, i repeat, <U>WILL</U> need a camber kit w/ an alignment, i need one and mine's not even that slammed.

well i dont no if i can afford camber kit right now cause i have other **** infront of that with college and everything. i realllly need to get rid of my wheel gap though. whats the lowest i can adjust my coilovers before i need a camber kit? i new i needed lowering struts because stock shocks obvisally ride like crap and will eventually blow out. my boy has a gsr with prob bout an inch and 1/2 drop and his tires arnt really wearing. any opinions?
