Clutch Fork Pivot!!!
I managed to break it agian second time this season damnit....
Anyone else breaking these things? I can't seem to find much info about anyone else having this problem.
This is a serious PITA cause it's a damn 8$ honda part but lastime I had to pull the tranny to change it. It is right there and you can take the old one out and even put the new one in through the little access hole. But you can't fit the new one in there and the clutch fork at the same time I noticed?
Is there a way to do this that I just can't figure out? Lastime I messed with it for like 30mins trying to do it but with no luck. This time I may just grind out the access hole bigger if need be cause I really don't feel like dropping the whole damn tranny to put in a 2$ peice that is right in front of my face and would be a 2 second job.
Anyone have any luck? I guess this would be the same as changing the clutch for without pulling hte tranny aswell...
Man I'm so pissed right now...

I have never heard of it. The round ball looking sort of pivot or the recess in the actual clutch fork? It really sucks dropping the tranny. My condolences...

I always break the clutch fork not the ball what clutch are you using, if you are using a heavy duty clutch you might need to upgrade to a tilton release bearing
Update...
Not sure how or when but sometime in the land of JDM..heh The pivot must of broke and they replaced it with the wrong pivot or there was a redesigning of the pivot later one cause the one I just got from the dealer is about 5000x more heavy duty and thicker and bigger then the one I had.
When it broke the firstime I replaced it with one out of a b series tranny i had and it matched the one that came with the tranny perfectly. But this new one is realy heavey duty and fits the indent in the fork alot better too so I'm gonan have to assume the ones i used before were not the right ones that's why they boke.
You can see how the smaller ones were getting jammed in the fork a bt, so that prolly caused the binding and eventual breaking...
So I'm putting the tranny back in tommorow so I'll report back with how it turned out and everything for future reference...
So things to note honda trannys DO NOT share the same pivot ball apperintly, and if they do then you might have the wrong one in there to begin with.

holy crap! i thought i was the only jerk-off that this thing has happened to. yeah, the head off of that nut/screw broke off and it was a f*uckin $10 piece. Did you hear a rattle before yours broke off. My mechanic dropped the tranny and found out that the nut broke. how many times has this happened to you? It only happened to me once... My clutch fork was fine and there wasn't anything noticeably wrong with the groove in my clutch fork either... my mechanic said he had never heard of this happening before. Keep me posted as to what happens man... the same thing might happen to me again because i'm hearing a rattle when i shift now, usually at 2500 rpm

I think my problem was just the wrong pivot in the first place...
On a side note I haven't found anyone else this has ever happend to with a Honda, but it happend to my brothers DSM this season too....weird
