Default Need help installing 94-97 Tsunami Front Lip

My girlfriend bought me the Lip from Modacar, It looks VERY nice... some THICK *** urethane. Supposedly it is "A PERFECT" fit, and it looks like it is up next to the car.

I want to test fit it and get the holes drilled/lined up before I take it off and get it painted for ease of install at that time.

Do any of you have info to give me on taking off the bottom piece of the 94-97 Teg front bumper to put this on... is it a pain in the ***?

Here's what it says in my Chilton's manual:

1. Remove turn signals; remove mounting screws at the sides and top of the bumpers
2. Remove lower clips and the bumper mounting bolts
3. Slide bumper off brackets
4. Remove bumper brackets; remove corner slide and corner slide clip screws
Chilton's is ghetto.. I need to get a Helm's.

Anyway, it should be pretty easy, basically just a bolt on operation. Make sure you take note of which screw/bolt goes where so you install the new bumper correctly. HTH
Also, would you mind taking a couple of pics of the bumper when you have it installed? I really like the looks of Tsunami, and I was thinking about getting one myself.

UPDATE!!!

PPPRRROPPPSSS..... To Tsunami

I put the lip on... and it looks BOMB!!!

There were very small tick marks on the Tsunami piece that PERFECTLY lined up with the stock holes!!! I drilled em out and the fit was, well... just like they said OEM FIT!!!

I just couldn't believe that it could be such a perfect piece!!!

Ill have to find my DIGICAM...

THANKS.

i have also been seriously debating on getting this or not. does it come pre-painted? need sanding?

also.. Do you have the factory side skirts with it? Do they match up ok? I figure it would look like the Real-Time typeR (using factory painted side skirts) Do the oem sideskirts really come down that much lower so it would match up with the lip?

thanks!

My car is black, and the Lip comes unpainted black urethane. It looks just like primer black out of a can. All it needs is some final wet-sanding before paint.

It doesnt flare out that much, probably just enough to match stock side skirts... which I dont have but want to get!!!

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET STOCK SIDE SKIRTS (other than dealer?)

It hangs way lower than stock teg sideskirts even the ITR sides..... and well it goes really good with the WW RS sides.

I got it as a gift from my GF... as previously stated.

I finally got to get a look at it in the sunlight today! (dark and cloudy yesterday...)

Perfecto.

Sorry the car is so dirty... Ill take better ones after its washed

And someone vandalized my old hood(w/a hammer), And I just got this one (primered)... Im gettin the whole teg painted in a couple months... so ill have to live with the unpaintedness for a while.

Looks good. Except, the interior is a little too colorful for my tastes.

Quick question: What's wrong with your hood? I'm guessing it's unpainted?

hmm... doesnt look too bad with the stock side skirts. I guess Realtimes lip hangs a lot lower than the tsunami.

u mind takin a direct profile shot of the car (if its not too much trouble) After seein your pics now im REALLY wantin to get this lip. Also, how fars your car dropped? Have u had any trouble with the lip scraping where it wouldnt have before?

thanks!

Looks nice, I have the 98-01 Tsunami Front Lip on my R, a bit milder than the 94-97s. I love it, it's the lip Wings West SHOULD have put on their 98-01 W-typ body kit. Instead, they have this lip that looks like baby teeth.

I love bigger fangs.

I got a dumb question... are lips completely new front ends? Or are they something that you can put on the bottom of the stock one? This Tsunami lip looks tight, this is what i'm looking for.

most lips go on over the stock front lip - few replace the entire front bumper

does anyone have a pic of the tsunami lip with WW sides? I hate the look of a hangin lip, you have to had some low sides to compinsate. Also, what could be done to the rear bumper to make it look not out of place with this pretty extreme (compairded to stock) lip?
