Default O2 position on header

Ok. I'm going to try this again because I never got the answer I was looking for. Help would be appreciated.

Who here has a 94-97 Accord EX with a Kamikaze header? If so, where does your primary O2 plug in on it.. at the end of the downpipe or at the primaries up top? If it plugs in where the collector meets in front of the radiator up top, how did you extend your oxygen sensor wires?

(I need to know if this is going to be a direct bolt in or if I'm going to have to extend my o2 wire).

Please only answer if you own one. Thanks.

Do you have a LX or a EX?? most people with a LX swapping a EX header in they need to purchase the secondary pipe (where the o2 goes) for it to work... otherwise there will be no hole for you to place the o2, unless you drill and make one... either that or buy that thing that cancels out the o2 at kteller.com...

and for the wires.. buy wires and extend!!! thats the only way to extend it down there... dont forget to buy lots of heatshrink wrap and stuff to protect those wires after they are extended.

if i remember right, i think dc sports come with a o2 extender if you buy it new??? but correct me if im wrong. but you dont really need to get one, just get the right gauge wiring, and cut em one by one so you dont get confused?

If you call DC Sports you can order the extension. I don't remember how much it is though.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just order the damn Kamikaze header and deal with having to extend the wires (if that's the case). It's not that I can't do it, I just wanted it to be a quick, no hassle, bolt-on and go affair, since I have to do it after hours at work (only time I can use my shop).

Oh well. I'll let ya'll know how it works out once I install it and if it is a good header.

yes, i had a kamazake header on my vtec motor. the o2 bung was on the primarys, but i had previously had a dc on there so i had the wire extension already. even though is as easy as clipping and splicing wires to extend. use those inline connectors from autozone. should take 5 min to do.

You say that you are a certified tech....Then you will know NOT TO USE inline type connectors, Soldering IS THE ONLY methood for working with high impeadance wiring.

Well I did not soder mine and they work just fine with inline connectors. It depends. But seeing as my WHIP is all tore down right now for a front end rebuild. I am going to go over it all and fixing loads of issues with my car.

One of them is to fix one hell of a chop job done before I bought the car. Loads of electrical tape and twisted wires. Got to love the mini torch from Radio shack. Works great with the right tip.

Solder raises resistance.

The wrong type of solder can raise the resistance. I have noticed that with a few times. Buy the good stuff, it is more pure. Like they say, you get what you pay for. And since the computer could read the wrong signal from the o2 sensor if the wiring is bad, I would do it right once.
