my prelude had a rusted away ring on the A pipe before the cat. which kind of always made my car shake n run like crap, so i was used to it actin up sometimes. i was in the process of looking at exahusts and gettin all that replaced. i was drivin home last night and all of the sudden my RPMS were goin crazy, goin from 1-2 really fast. then my car started makin crazy noises every time i pressed on the gas. it sounded like my exhaust was about to fall off.i pulled into a parking lot cuz i knew it was gonna die. when i went to start it again, it would rev up to 2 and then slowly fall back down to 500 then back up to 2, like it was struggling to keep power, and then it would just fall to 0 and die. all the noise is coming from the exhaust and some rattling noise from the engine. my dad thinks it might be the cam shaft? i ahve no idea. all i know is my car was towed to some shop, and i miss her! lol. could the exhaust leak caused damage to the engine?

 

If you sprung a leak before the O2 sensor, that may be your culprit. Otherwise check vacuum lines on IM.

Engine is makeing a rattling noise to in the head,i think it might be the cam
