redrill the plate is one option. I just chose to get rid of it all together

I got some big washers for the back, nuts, and bolts, and it worked out great.

I fabbed up (read: cut apart a "No Hunting" sign) a little bracket, so I screw the plate into that, then screw that into the stock bumper bolt holes.
