is there a place that gives away or trash engines? im looking for an engine in any condition (broken, stuck piston, bent valves, i dont really care). if you know a place or are personally wanting to trash one, please let me know. im not interested in junk yards since they're probbaly gonna charge me.

ya i think junk yards will charge. Best bet is to put an ad in the newpaper, craigslist, ect.

 

whats a good price on a broken engine?

i thought maybe d15 non-vtec motors were giveaways =/ oh well

I've seen shops try to sell sohc nonvtec motors that dont run for 200 bucks. It boogles my mind how people think someone will buy a broken motor for that price.

 

look around, there are tons of people with broken stock engines or ones laying around from swaps. im willing to bet that you can find one for free/~50 dollars.

One of the local junkyards here was trying to sell a broken cx engine, that they claimed was a d16z6, for 300 bucks!!
