No, not greedy at all.
It's more of a "thank you so much" thing.

i mean i can understand if it were a long, drawn out process that would require a write up (i've helped a few people with power window and power folding mirror wiring and it can get long and repetitive) but if it takes 15 seconds, what's the problem with sharing your knowledge? that is the point of helpful forums, right?

Maybe it can in some way give thieves another way to steal our cars possibly pass on the idea. That is why you aren't supposed to post on public forums instructions on how to unlock doors with keys stuck on the inside ect. - Darrell
No, it's not a drawn out process.
It's actually quite simple.
I'm not a "professional locksmith", but I am the "resident locksmith" at the shop where I work, a shop that employs over 1,000 people, 99% of them Journeyman Mechanics!
In a situation like this, after they've tried everything they can think of, (tweezers and other nonsense) they ask me.
98 out of 100 times I can remove the broken key, even if it is Krazy Glued or something else is shoved in there to prevent someone from ever opening it. (There are a lot of mean people out there)
And you know what? They are very grateful and thank me for saving them $$$, headaches and the wait of replacing a cylinder, as everyone "wants to get in" NOW.
Now if "YOU" would like to know how, why don't you just send an email?
I never said I wouldn't help the guy, hell, if he was within 50 miles I'd probably drive up there and do it for him.
No fee, just a "Thank You".
Maybe you're right. Instead of saying:
"I can do it, but I'm not telling anyone who doesn't email me"
was wrong.
I should have just PMd the guy, who still hasn't sent me an email by the way.
I hope he doesn't remove the handles!
I just did a Google search, and take a minute to look at a "professionals" answer.

He won't tell either, but I'll tell you this, it's no "special tool".
And another...

Are they greedy too?
No, they do it for a living.
