popping and rev limit

msd SCI with blaster 2 coil 8k chip in but still at around 5.5k my exhaust starts popping and it wont go pass that... what the hell is up

some MSD ignitions have built in rev limiters....is yours accidently set to 5.5k?

it had a 6k chip and i thought that was doing it... so i changed to 8k and still didnt do anything differ...

could it be some kind of rev limit on the engine cus its not the original motor.
