tips on removing crank pulley
i need to change my timing belt and am having trouble pulling off the crank pulley. i tried putting the car in gear and it still just spins. is there some special trick to keep it from spinning?
there is a tool you need:
1: impact gun
or
2: crank pully locking tool, it holds the pully in place so it dont spin (can be found at almost ne kregran, napa, etc)

how much does this locking tool cost? another guy said to have someone step on the brake and that would keep it from spinning. i am assuming that this is while the car is in gear. will that work?
since he answered i'll just make things easier for you... got to a local pep boys store and ask to rent one (i know it sounds weird i guess but i used to work at a pep boys [most pep boys employees are completely brain dead but there are some who know stuff])
so the part that gets better is it's free to rent a tool, and if they don't have one we always took one off the shelf opened it rented it and wrote it off inventory

take a look at this thread, there were some good tips: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1008583
I had trouble with this just a couple weeks ago and I just had my friend hold the pulley with a pipe wrench and I used a breakover bar. It took some force but it finally budged.
