Ok here is the problem, I just bought a 87 integra from the auction and it wouldnt start. So i went and got some spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor and it started but it cut off. So i checked for fuel and spark and it had both. I even changed the FPR just to see if that was the problem but it wasnt. The car starts up then cuts off after like 4 seconds. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanx.

 

How long has it been sitting? Could be old/bad gas.

 

step on the gas pedle a lot before you start the car. then let it warm up completely.

my 86 civic does this.

 

I dont know how long the car has been sitting, and i went to the gas station and got some gas for it. If i step on the gas pedal it just bogs out. Thanx for the help guys. Keep them coming. Im thinking that it may be the ECU?

 

checked the engine oil level?

 

clogged/bad catalytic conver will do that, left my uncles dodge ram inoperable until fixing it today...

i dunno where you live neighborhood wise but unbolt the exhaust infront of the cal so it's not used and see what happens then...

and i too just picked up a 91 teg from an auction a no runner also haha very clean and female driven (can tell by all of the things i found like lip gloss, chapstick, ear rings, scrungies i think they're called?) so some more advice would be get some dry gas, fill the tank with good gas or atleast half and use half the bottle of dry gas, and replace the fuel filter. my intake resonator is filled with water from sitting so i bypassed the air box to try getting it going i would check that, or replace the air filter...
