why is there a spark near battery when i start car?
thats not good! i hope you dont develop a fuel leak!.........do what Keno said....also check your grounds and make sure your red cover thingy is over your positive terminal bc maybe its arcing there.
good luck!
good luck!
try getting a lower profile battery. or check for obstructions under your battery that will not let it seat in the battery box. that could possably cause it to arc. when you turn your motor over it torques causing your battery to vibrate and arc on the hoodd? is it straped down??

arc would be there actually being a spark emitted from the terminals... another use for the term would be my plug wires are arching. i.e. emitting the spark from the wire onto another item in the engine.(very common for 8v VW's from the wire to the cyl head. this is sometimes cause of the metal protector and the wires being over $100 just for cheap OEM ones so no one ever wants to replace them)
thought i'd help you understand what they're talking about
