Recently purchased a 95 civic vx . I am having a problem with the idle hanging high between shifting, and slightly eratic at idle, thought it might be the EGR. checked the egr and solinoid works as advertised. if i step on the pedal and let off, it hangs around 3k for about 10 seconds, then slowly comes back down to idle. Performed all checks in the Haynes manual and everything seems to be working correctly, but i am not hearing the vacuum solinoid come on , and the EGR is never moving. What would cause this problem, if it is really a probelm, or am i looking in the wrong place and is this normal.

 

First of all your in the wrong forum, this is for EF's. Ask a mod to move this to EG section.

Second you might wanna clean your TB, it might just be a dirty TB butterfly that is not closing when let off.
