I think I might have a problem.
Yesterday, my car was driving around fine. Today, I am going to do some last minute shopping (who wasn't
) and it seemed like my shifter was feeling notchy as hell. I didn't pay no mind, because it is cold and it usually feels notchy for a while. Might just be me though. Well, as the day goes by, it seems my car is getting harder and harder to put into gear. I stopped by a buddies house and when I was leaving and backing out of his drive, I had a hell of a time getting it from reverse to 1st gear. Everytime I stopped at a light it got even harder. It is now to the point that I can't even get into 1st gear and I have to take off in 2nd and almost forcing it into 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Any ideas fellas? Merry Christmas to me!
I guess I'll take it to the dealer on Wed. and probably won't have a car for the rest of the week I'm off of work.

I think you need to replace your pressure plate & clutch. Lots of people have had this problem, myself included.
What happens is the spring seats on the pressure plate become damage and it will not disengage fully, dragging the clutch making it difficult to shift.

If it comes down to that, what is a good combo to replace it with. ACT heavy duty or what? What did you replace yours with?
What aftermarket clutches are you guys running on a basically stock ITR?
Thanks! Corey

A good combo is exedy organic. Might as well replace your flywheel at the same time.... spoon or toda.
I have poon chromoly flywheel and exedy organic. The clutch is great, feel is just like stock but it hold a lot better. The flywheel will be put on in a week (installing jdm fd).

Anyone else have any ideas what could be the problem? Just trying to get some ideas what to expect when I take it to the dealer on Wed.
Okay, I might have a little more info for you guys. I parked my car in my neightbors drive lastnight and I went to move a little while ago. Beofre I started my car, the shifter went into gear just fine, but as soon as I started it, it hardly would go into any gear. Does this help?
exact same thing happened to me, when i missed my shift and hit 12k rpms (yikes) it popped the spring off the clutch...the car drove semi-ok when cold, but the warmer it got, the harder it was to shift...i took it in and got it fixed under warranty, and 2 of the techs at crown acura were actually at the track when i fucked up the shift, saw it happen and all. i love those guys.
