4-2-1 makes better bottom end but loses top end, 4-1 does top end well

4-1, cause top end rules and if youre sporting b series youll want a nice strong top end to shove that vtec in anybodies face...

well said, but you gotta have that bottom end to get to vtec (or you could go with the 6000 rpm clutch drops the motorex boys do!)

I answered a similar question here before:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=101179

4-1
-Less ground clearance
-More top end power
-Losses in bottom of powerband

4-2-1
-Stronger midrange powerband
-Less top end than 4-1 design
-More ground clearance

I'm curious about this ground clearance. What makes it different?

The reason he PROBABLY mentioned safety is because a 4-1 header doesn't allow as much ground clearance. A 4-2-1 header only has to fit 2 pipes under the oil pan/cross-member (on my car anyways) while a 4-1 header fits 4 pipes under the oil pan/cross-member. This means if your car is "slammed to dah grizzound y0," you will be more likely to damage it.
I spoon fed you the link, and you couldn't even read the thread to understand what I meant.

4-2-1 is what you want if unless you are building an all out track car.

better midrange, decent top end, with out sacrificing anything down low

4-2-1 properly built.
Gotta see SMHS (?) or Hytech to get one though.

Greddy doesn't make a ceramic header.

As for 4-1 or 4-2-1, I'd say 4-2-1 if you want more midrange HP/TQ, 4-1 if you want top end HP/TQ
