Does anyone know how much the GT3 in 15x7 weighs ?
I'm thinking about replacing some volks I have with a more readily availiable lower cost rim since I am driving my car more and more on a short trip day to day basis and I was thinking about picking up some Heliums since they are pretty light @ 10.7 lbs for the 15x6.5in size, also my friend can get me dealer cost so it's going to be very cheap

However I saw at SEMA they have finaly released the 15in GT3 and in a 7in width which I think with planned 205 - 225 tires will be a better size but I am concerded about how much heavier they are ?
another question is how much does the extra .5 inch make to the tire height ? I gave my friend my 205's for his 195's due to fender clearance on a 6.5in rim

Me three.
I currently have the Heliums, but I want something wider.
Heliums are a great 6.5" wheel. There has been an instance of a road-racing EP3 (2740 lbs) breaking a on the track (B18CXR)

Mach III lists the weight as 13.5lbs. Don't know if that's accurate or not, and won't know until I receive my set.
Im kicking myself for not jumping on the $400 set deal of Rota GT3s someone was running right after SEMA...I really like the wheels.
In related news, KONIG will be releasing a Cast Panasport lookalike (called retro?) in 15x7 4/100 later on this summer... should be in the $130 price-range

It will be called the Konig Rewind, from what I've read on miata.net those type of panasport lookalike wheels are really hard to cast lightweight, there is a lot of material needed to to get the style with the strength. Expect them to weigh in around 15lbs and cost under $120. talk to goodwin racing for all the info.
I just bought a set of Konig Networks, 15x7 100 bucks apiece shipped on Ebay, they weigh in between 13 and 13.5lbs(scale only reads half lb incrememnts and it was jumping back and forth). When I went to get my Azenis mounted, my buddy(who was mounting them at NTB) asked me how wide they were, I of course replied 7 inches, he said well my calipers are showing 7.5". (they put the width of the wheel into the balancing machine). Just an FYI for those interested in new wheels

Quoted wheel widths should be the inner width. Thanks for the info on the Konig Networks. I was also wondering about the weight of those.

I wouldn't recommend heliums for roadracing/track duty honestly,
they are known to crack under heavy stress, and if you look at the spokes it's ez to see why. Also they're only 6.5 wide.
Try these out instead
konig Quickk
(actually konig has a bunch of nice 15x7 wheels out, lots of nice designs to choose from, all look to be durable enough). as cheap or cheaper than rotas..

There are a bunch of 15x7 wheels that just got listed on ebay. A bunch of Sport Max (anybody have any experience with them?) and a few miscellaneous others. Problem with all of them is that the offset is +38mm. I know when I had the +38mm offset Kosei K1s on my R, they stuck out a little more than I would have liked. That's the main reason I was interested in the GT3s: +40mm offset on those. In fact, I just got a brand new set off ebay for $450 shipped. I'll try to find a scale and post the weight when I get them.

Duly noted.
Luckily, I only use mine for SoloII in a pretty light CRX in a Street-Tire class, but nonetheless, I want to go with 7" wheels soon anyway. I'll probably put off buying a header/exhaust and get GT3s when my tires are gone...or maybe rpf-1s if I'm feeling richer.

You do realize the 2mm offset difference you're quoting is less than a 1/10"?!? I find it hard to believe anyone could tell a difference between the two, it's just such a small change.

Got a set at the end of February. Weight on the baggage scales here at the airport i work at showed 15lbs. Scales checked and calibrated every 6 months. A letdown due to the 12-13.5 lbs listing given by most sellers. 2lbs heavier than my 16x7 slip's at 13.7lbs.

Yes, the GT3's.
I shipped a set of 15" GT3s with Yokohama ES100s in 195/50-15 mounted on them. They were bundled in pairs, using fibergalss reinforced strapping tape, with 2 pieces of cardboard taped to the outside of the rim faces. They weighed 70 lbs per pair on the scales at the shipping place.

Update: I just got my shipment notification for the GT3s. There are two packages, 28 lbs each. So the 13.5 lbs weight is looking good at this point.
Just buy Team Dynamics Pro Race 1, 15x7, any offset you want, an 13.2 lbs on a digital scale, $125 or less depending on where you buy. Won't break on track.
