hey i am wondering were i would need to tap the hole for a water pressure guage and if any one has a pic of it it would be greatly appresheated

ac autotechnic has an in line hose adapter that works the best. i have never installed a temp gauge but if you didnt want to go that way, there is a single pin sensor in the side of the head that works the stock gauge. you can put it there.

GReddy makes those too. You could proably make a variant of that with piping from autozone for cheaper

 

ANy one have detaled instrctions or pictures of how to do this?

dude if you buy one of those pre-made ones, all you do is cut the upper rad hose and then put that thing in between it. If you make your own, you do the same thing, but you have to get the piping tapped for the size your sensor is. It isnt too hard. Just buy oin of these and go from there.

In a D-series head just under the distributor there are a pair of hex-screws that sit flush with the aluminum. One of them (top, I think) is for coolant, bottom is for oil. Most oil pressure and coolant temperature sensors will thread into these holes without any trouble. That's what I tapped my oil pressure gauge on my Autometer, only after discovering that the top one was coolant and not oil .

Good info I have a gauge I tried to sell on the cheap to no avail so I may just install it for ***** and giggles now.

so i am looking at my engine and i see a port were there apears to be a stock sencer in it is closes to the fan and i am wondering what isi that and can i put my water temp guage in there?

if u have a manual fan switch you can fit a sensor into the spot where the fan switch is.

 

were is that and will it efet any thing?
