Pics from today's meet (no 56k)
Here are some pics from the meet I went to today, plus the story of my Limp-R making it home by a thread... literally.
but first, some ITR hotness.

Mmmm... CW.
And now why my R limped home... while looking under the hood to check the s/c idler pulley, someone notices something a wee bit wrong with my throttle cable.

After trying to think of places to get a trottle cable, we realize it just wasnt going to happen today. Time for some h-t ingenuity. A h-t mod steps in and makes a few suggestions of how to rig it just to get me the 130 miles back home. We had a mission... find wire. We went to the only place we could find wire. Michael's Arts & Crafts.

we got wire.. for picture frames.

We decided to unbraid it so it would be thin enough to wrap around the freyed areas.

After an h-t mod and I taking turns ghetto rigging this trottle cable, done with the upmost precision and skill, it looked like this...

In the end, it got me home. All in all, it was a fun meet. Just a nervous ride home.

Heh, I wasnt sure I was gonna make it home. I had my friend with a tow truck waiting for me to call. As for the cable... nah. It's an easy fix. Oh, btw, the problem with the belt was the idler pulley. A slight adjustment fixed it.

It was not neglect. I was under the hood just yesterday investigating a belt problem, and the throttle cable was not damaged. I suspect it began to fray, and as I pressed on the throttle it would have gotten caught, and stripping it off bit by bit in stop and go traffic like i had today.

mine did too, however I believe the JRSC bracket for the throttle cable puts too much stress on it... and others at the meet today agreed. I think I need to modify the bracket to put less stress on the cable.
