Default painting stock side skirts ?

i went to a body shop and asked them to match the stock side skirts with the rest of the car. they say they cant cuz the piece is textured and the paint will chip or crack off later. has anyone had their stock skirt painted?

Well if they put on a sandable base coat of primer, then add some adhesion promoter and some flex additive it should stick. Beside if they told you this is an as is paint job with no warrenty they should do it.

I just painted my side skirts and well see how long they last.

I did mine with cans of Dupli-Color spray paint from NAPA. I first sanded the skirts to rough them up a bit and cleaned them with surface cleaner, then sprayed them with primer, then put on the color and finished them with the clear coat.........no problems at all.

One of you guys IM'd me, but I accidentally erased it...........NAPA is a car parts store in Columbus, Ohio......I am not sure how widespread they are located. Try a car parts store near you, they will probably carry Dupli-Color paint. Dupli-Color has a website also, duplicolor.com.......go into the matching paint section.
