Default E-BRAKE LIGHT IS BEING DUMb!

ok i tried the to do a search but the server won't allow it, and i wanna turn the darn thing off.....

My e brake light stayed on in my 94 honda cx hb after i started the car and let the ebrake down. i was hoping it would turn off after driving but it didn't so when i got home i unplugged the clip and it still stayed on! I know the ebrake is off and the cable is tight enought that the hadle isn't pooing up on its own to trigger the switch for the light... i dunno has this happen to any of you before? and would anyone know what to do. i would just remove the light but its probably better to try to fix it or i will be dumb and forget i left the ebrake up and drive on it untill i notice...
so any help would be great! thanks!\

yeah i got that part but i already took my console apart, and the only wire i saw was coming off the of the ebrake switch. i will check again... i just don't wanna have to bust out the fluke meter and do tests just to find it out to be something so simple that other people may have delt with

yes, check brake fluid, and check to see if the little button is stuck in

i know the botton is not stuck in. that moves like it is suppost to. and the fluid is up to the full mark also. (made sure just in case). BUt if it was a groud wouldn't it not come on at all? cuz there would be a break or not complete curcuit. which would mean that it would have no power running throu the wires to make the light work. unless the light is on a safety switch and when the curcuit is broken it stays lit like mine is doing.

That light will still come on if the fluid is low. It will also come on if the brake fluid level sensor is bad. all of this is the first thing that should be checked.

The "BRAKE" idiot light deals with the entire brake system, not just the emergency brake. It can be activated when the fluid level in the master cylinder drops low enough that the float completes a circuit; when this happens, you need to check and your fluid. A low fluid level could be caused by A) worn pads, or B) a leak in the system. Check for either of these problems before refilling the master cylinder.

On my black Prelude this happened, but on my white Prelude it actually worked. Who knows...
