stock wing removal
i know how to take it off, but once off .... then what? 4 huge holes? how do i fix this problem without my car looking all jacked up. or is it even worth the time and i should just leave it on?!?
You could plug up the holes with those little black plugs by your front shocks in the engine bay, i ferget what they're called. If you do have a DC2 then you're not gonna have those plugs, but if you have DC4 there should be 4 plugs where the
stock gsr strut bar should be. you can use those to plug up the hatch. If not go to home depot or lowes to find those plugs.

U can do plugs from a hardware store, but i personally perfer electrical tape painted to the color of your car. Heres some pics

What i like about tape better than plugs is that it sits flush. When i had plugs, people could obviously tell that there were plugs cuz there were little bubbles popping out of the holes. Looked like rain drops sitting there. The tape is flush and from about 5 feet away you cant even tell, especially at night. Some people have critisized me for doin the tape, but i think its a +

I'm currently using white electircal tape (frost white car) and it looks good but I eventually want to shave it. What would be the correct way to shave the holes? I've heard of kinda denting in around the holes, then bondoing over the holes. Any advice? If I do that well, maybe I'll try the side moldings next
don't use bondo, have the holes welded shut, sanded smooth and painted if you want it to look the best. bondo will crack over time, especially with having the stress of closing your hatch so many times. electrical tape cut in circles is probably the best route to go if you think you will put your wing back on in the future.

I couldnt name a price cause I only do the work
but it takes awile when you weld small holes since you need to go vary slow(weld, stop, take a break, weld stop, take a break, weld, stop, take a break) that way you dont warp the metal.
The side moulding is a big job and to properly do it the door panels and rear plastic need to be removed and thats alot of little holes to slowley weld.

the smaller emblem holes can be filled with fiberglass filler that comes in a can. contains a bunch of fibers and such for greater rigidity. definately more stable than bondo.
as for the larger holes like the wing and side molding holes, as stated before, weldig is definately the way to go...

you have to stick a finger in the hole and find the connecter.. then disconnect the wires from the car not from the wing though. theyll be on the right side on a dc

If your going to use tape, tape it from the inside. In order to do this you need to take the plastic panel of the hatch. Get a piece of tape that matches the color of your car and tape it from inside and use a stronger tape over that like duck tape or something so it doesn't fall off. Since my car is black it is
easier to work with because i used the black vinyl tape that sold in pep boys which is suppose to be used for door moldings.

Of course shaving is the best way to solve this problem..
