Default Could This Be Bad?

We'll the front, right side of my wheelwell the plastic splash guard that covers it got riped off when I was driving. I have a cold air intake in my car and ever since my splashguard has been off I lost 2 intake filters. I don't know if someone is stealing them or if they're falling off, which I doubt because I would feel it. Anyway today I had work from 5-12 and I deliver pizza all day. Right before I left work my friend asked me if it was still on so I went and checked and it was gone. Now it could of been gone for about a day or so and I could of been driving around with it off. Could this of did some damage to my engine? It seems to be running fine right now.

yes, dirt and/or debris in your engine is not good. just as bad is moisture. sounds like you need to tighten the filter on there better if they're falling off that easily (doesn't seem like someone would steal 3 or your filters). definitely replace that fender liner asap too, you can find them at a local junkyard for cheap.

Yea that's the first thing I was planning on doing when I wake up. I put the last one of really tight too. It's costing a fortune replacing these intake filters.

I really think someone is stealing them, out of all the CAI's I have owned, I have never lost a filter. I like to leave the fender liner off, I figure it flows more air. Up to you. If your intake is 2 piece, at least take off the lower piece if you're running filterless, or you are more or less using your car as a vacuum for the roads.

well i have a polished chrome injen intake.. and its a sri, i find that its very slippery and if you dont have the filter on there extra tight, it slips off after a day of driving or so..
