Anyone know what this ticking is?
I have a 97 LS-Turbo'd I have this ticking noise that is always present, I thought that it might be my valves, so I adjusted them, which helped alittle but the ticking is still there. Its hard to explain but its not a steady ticking its allot louder and faster when my engine is cold, and slower and more irregular when my engine warmed up. It sounds like its coming from my inside my distuberter, ive just let it go for a while but its starting to worry me. Any ideas what this could be, Thanks allot.

I just replaced it about a month ago, but I checked it again to make sure and nothing looks wrong.

also having same problem. just had my valves adjusted when i did my water pump and the maintenance associated w/ that. (10k ago)
my PowerSteering Pump leaks, and i know it's on its way out. i've been assuming thats where the noise is sourcing. hope it helps.. if you figure it out pm me.

well,
assuming there are no check engine lights.
i would pull the valve cover off and check for out of roundness on the lobes of the camshaft. Use a 19mm socket and a 1/2inch ratchet with an extension and turn the crank bolt to see all angles of the lobe. That will cause heavy ticking.
Also a bent valve will cause heavy ticking. Misshifting from high gear to low gear will bend a valve or just too much stress at one point of acceleration will bend a valve in some cases.
The ticking is notorious in integra's.. usually fixed by adjusting the valves.
I don't know.. check the camshaft with a dial indicator tool or just replace the head because a valve is probably bent.
