how you do you know if you have a quaife LSD in the tranny with out taking it apart
my buddy just bought a 00 civic si and the owner say the car have a quaife LSD installed. my question is how do you know if the car have a LSD with out taking the axles out.
he did a small burn and and there's two tire marks on the ground
while he did the burn out the car have alot of wheel hop
the axles does not look been taking out the car before unless they use new axles nuts after the LSD installion.
any suggestion?

Get reciepts from the guy. Otherwise you'll have to have them take a look when you next need a clutch.

jack it up off the ground, put it in neutral, and spin a wheel.
if the other one turns in the same direction, it's a posi. if the other one spins in the opposite direction, it's open.

but i tought that quaife if the jack up the car and turn the wheel only one wheel turns right? correct me if i am wrong. i probly going to take the axle out and see what's in it. the seller give my boy the warranty card and the old diff but it still look susperious because the tranny does not look it's been opened up b4 but we will see.

MY suggestion would have been to verify it before buying it.
At this point, you need to take the tranny out to know for sure. All this "spin the wheel" crap isn't going to tell you anything. You might be able to figure out that it's got an LSD, but not 100% that it's a quaife.

did you aquire the warranty card when you purchased the Tranny? it is possible that you have LSD in the tranny but I don't know if you can tell it's a quaife Diff thru the Axle Hole

i think the qualife has a washer in the middle or kaaz **** i dont rember 
u see it when u look in the hole. if you see a bar in the middle its a open diff
