Re: (mike93eh)
how hot is it there? mine fluctuates depending on the ambient air temps.
usually on a cold day it idles cold at 2000 but warmer days it drops.
hope this helps a little.

Fast Idle Thermo Valve-- There's a valve on the bottom of your throttle body which changes the idle speed to a higher RPM on cold mornings to make sure the car doesn't stall and so it warms up faster.
You might want to make sure the white valve inside the aluminum piece is all the way screwed in-- there's a slot that you can use a flathead in. Typically when it isn't in, the idle fluctuates though.
Do you have the coolant line attached to the throttle body still, or did you do the bipass?

yes the coolant line is still hooked up and youre not suppose to screw the white thing in all the way. it is preset from the factory. if you screw it in all the way, it basically disables your FITV and then has no use. some people do screw it in all the way as a quick fix for idle problems.
so no one here has ever installed a new FITV. this is crazy, i know someone has, whats it suppose to idle at cold start??

Re: (mike93eh)
maybe it was never set to spec...or somehow it was turned without you knowing it.....when i too mine off ( im assuming it was set to spec) but i had to turn the white screw 3 full rotations for it to tighten all the way down...i dunno if this helps

Re: (mike93eh)
try adjusting the idle screw. Oh btw, what sources tell you that screwing the white cork will disable the FITV? I'm genuinely curious because I fixed my fluctuating idle by doing so from the following thread:

Let me know.

yes it fixed your fluctuating idle because your FITV is bad and you screwed the white thing in which disabled it, so that explains why it fixed your idle problems. your bad FITV was causing the idle problems.

well, in my car, the only time it idles at 2000 rpm is when it is really cold (think below zero kind of cold) but when it is 40* out, it usually idles between 1400-1600 rpm, so it sounds a little low, but not too bad.

That still didn't answer my Question about how you got the source of "disabling" the FITV when screwing the cork screw down. It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that I'd like to know where you're getting your information. Kind of like, if I were to ask you what sources you used for a research assignment.

wow for someone asking the questions you sure happen to know a lot on the subject lol. why dont you just ******* try screwing it in and see what happens?? I mean hell...count the rotations until lock and then if it doesnt work back it out that much and take it back!
you've had several ppl tell you the same thing so logic would say to ******* try it.
unreal.

this is getting way off subject. go back and read my first post carefully. my FITV is brand new from honda. i should not have to adjust ******* crap on it. its plug and play. no screwing down ****.
